Velstash Cache
Boring infrastructure, honestly priced.
Your dedicated managed cache instance — dramatically cheaper than AWS ElastiCache, Azure Cache, and GCP Memorystore.
What it is
Managed memcached, for people who just want a cache that works
You get a dedicated cache instance reachable over the network. No cluster to tune, no capacity planning spreadsheets, no surprise egress bills — just a cache matching how much memory you need. Hosted in Europe (France and Finland), with more regions planned. Built for developers and small teams who want caching infrastructure to be a solved problem, not a month's project.
Why we're cheaper
We don't pay retail cloud prices
We're dramatically cheaper than AWS ElastiCache, Azure Cache, and GCP Memorystore because we don't pay retail cloud prices: instead, we leverage bare-metal infrastructure and/or long-term capacity commitments to secure the best price for our clients, without cutting corners on reliability.

That's 4x what MemCachier offers on its free tier (25MB).
Comparison
How we stack up
vs. MemCachier
Our free trial offers 4x MemCachier's free-tier memory (100MB vs. 25MB), with the same straightforward, no-surprises pricing philosophy.
vs. AWS ElastiCache
No node-hour billing, no VPC/subnet setup, no reserved-instance commitments to unlock a fair price — just a monthly plan sized to your memory needs.
vs. GCP Memorystore
Roughly 30% less than a comparably-sized GCP Memorystore for Memcached instance. See the pricing page for the detailed comparison.
Dashboard
Understand your cache performance
At a glance
The cache dashboard shows its hit rate over the last 5, 10, and 15 minutes, plus all-time, alongside memory usage, item count, active connections, and evictions, so you quickly know how it's behaving. Connection details are right there to copy, and a per-slab breakdown shows exactly where that memory is going.
Over time
Switch between 1-hour, 6-hour, 24-hour, 7-day, and 30-day views to see memory usage, hit rate, item count, evictions per second, and worker count each plotted as its own line chart. Spot a slow memory creep or a hit-rate dip building up long before it becomes a problem.
Down to the millisecond
Read and write latency, tracked separately across the same 1-hour to 30-day windows: three lines each for P50, P90, and P99. Below the chart, a table breaks the same percentiles down into average milliseconds for the period you're looking at, for reads and writes alike.
And there's more:
- Top keys and prefixes, showing how your caching strategy performs by breaking down hit and miss statistics by prefix and by individual key, across different timeframes.
- Alerts, informing you by email whenever your memory usage or hit rate falls out of configured thresholds.
- Credentials management, enabling the usage of different permissions per environment or application (so that an application could be allowed to only read from the cache, or prevented from flushing the whole cache)
